The Victoria West Region
The Teams movement provides a rich source of spiritual energy and provides support for married couples. The first teams in rural Victoria began in Bendigo in 1976, in the early 1980’s the movement began to expand and additional Teams in Wangaratta and Wodonga were formed. Teams are now operating throughout the Victoria West Sector in the areas of Bendigo, Ararat, Colac, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Shepparton, Kerang and Echuca/Moama.
Christine and John Haddrick
Christine and John Haddrick live in Wangaratta and have been married for 30 years we have 3 adult children. We have been a member of Team 2 Wangaratta for 12 years. We love what Teams has done to enrich our marriage and are thankful for the friends we have made in the wider movement.
Fr Andrew Fewings
Born in Bendigo and educated at St Therese’s Kennington and Marist Brothers College, Bendigo. Entered Corpus Christi College Seminary in 1973 and ordained a priest of the Sandhurst Diocese on 15 August 1980 Appointed assistant priest at Myrtleford, Bendigo and Shepparton and Parish Priest Euroa, Benalla and Kennington. Did post-graduates studies at Catholic University of America in Liturgical Studies. Returned to the Diocese and appointed Director of Religious Education in the Diocese of Sandhurst. Over the years served in various positions on Australian Catholic Society of Marriage Education, Diocesan Liturgical Commission, Sandhurst School Education Board, Mission to Priests Team, Diocesan Consultors and Sandhurst Council of Priests.
I began in Teams in 1983 in Bendigo and also been Team’s Chaplain (now titled Spiritual Adviser) in Washington DC USA, Shepparton and now again in Bendigo. I attended the Teams International Gatherings in Santiago de Compostela in 2000 and Lourdes in 2006. I also served on the Satellite Team on Mission and Expansion, and the Oceania Super-Regional Team and attended Teams College meetings in Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, Paris and Lourdes. I find in Teams a great spiritual and personal enrichment and both at home and travelling internationally great friendships and hospitality (one a Teams Endeavour). I continue to gain a broad and deep understanding of marriage and family life, prayer and a concrete expression of the church as lived out in married couples.
