Queensland, Northern NSW and New Zealand
This is a large Region in the movement! It currently includes all of Queensland and Northern New South Wales and then eastward across the Tasman Sea to join up with New Zealand. While this is an enormous geographical area, growth of the Teams movement has been confined mainly to the South Eastern corner of Queensland, nine Teams in Brisbane, plus 1 each on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, one Team in Casino (N-NSW) and three Teams in the Hutt Valley, near Wellington in New Zealand.
We are always happy to share the gift of Teams with all who are interested. We can provide information material, visit to speak to couples, conduct information meetings, whenever and wherever invited. Isolated couples and former members are welcome to communicate and with us and be linked to the movement electronically and to attend our gatherings. We welcome all inquiries.
There are Teams on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts as well as Brisbane who would welcome inquiries from interested couples. If you have a group of like minded Couples and would like to know more about the Teams way of life just give us a call. We are happy to help with formation and distance piloting of new Teams anywhere within the region.
Susie and Tim Jones – Sector Couple 2016-2019
Queensland, Northern NSW, and New Zealand
We have been married for 26 years and have 3 adult children
We originally met through our involvement in Emmanuel Community (a charismatic Catholic Community). Since then we have also become involved in other ministries such as Christian Meditation (Susie); Rosies – a ministry to the homeless (Tim); Ministry to Newly Married; and Celebrate Love with Engaged Couples.
We have been involved in Teams for about 10 years and have enjoyed the support and growth that Teams provides for our marriage. We hope to raise the awareness of this movement in the Region and gain support from parish priests, as this may increase the membership in Teams. We also hope to encourage the existing Teams to seek support from the Regional Team for any difficulties or issues that they may be experiencing within their Team.
Finally, we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and inspire us during our time as Regional Couple.

Mal and Evelyn Thomson have been in Teams since 1982, after being invited to attend an information night. They joined the movement and a multicultural Team was formed, as a number of the members came from other countries. Mal met Evelyn in the Philippines and they have been married since 1975 and have two children, both of whom are married, and one grandson.
Their Team has been a constant feature of their marriage and of considerable support to Evelyn when Mal worked fly-in fly-out of Papua New Guinea for almost ten years, leaving Evelyn to raise the two teenage children during his absences. They have found Teams in general and their Team, in particular, a great support and a strong source of their married spirituality, helping them to overcome any problems they encounter.
They participated in all the Teams’ International Gatherings from Fatima in 1994 (which their children also attended) to the present. They sang with the Gathering‘s choir at Brasilia in 2012. Mal has been a member of the St Stephen’s Cathedral Choir in Brisbane since 1983, and both are involved in the music programme in their local parish and other parish activities. Given good health, they hope to attend the 2018 Gathering in Fatima.
Teams has encouraged them to strengthen their devotion to God and their commitment to their marriage.
One Sector in New Zealand
The New Zealand Sector
Consists of three Teams in the Wellington area.
Liason Couple: Kayren and Laurie SmithEmail: email@example.com
The Teams Movement for Married Spirituality (Teams of Our Lady) was established in New Zealand in 1995 by Peggy Corrigan from England when visiting family. This Sector has started a little differently in that most Teams are within the same parish – St Theresa’s Parish, Plimmerton, Porirua. Porirua City is 29 kms north of the capital, Wellington.
In 2000, Teams NZ was invited to join the Australasian Super Region and the Sector is now part of Queensland/N-NSW Region.
There are three Teams in the Wellington region with members from St Theresa’s Plimmerton, St Peter & Pauls’ Johnsonville and St Joseph’s, Upper Hutt.
